December 2nd

Today's prompt was about the weather, and how I think of it in relation to Christmas. My journalling read:

'LET IT SNOW

So I think you can guess from how this page is decorated that my ideal Christmas weather is SNOW! - especially as we now have the kids so don't travel anywhere. Sadly it doesn't often happen - I think the last time I saw a white Christmas I was about 19 and expecting my 8 year old sister to wake me up, when in fact it was my Dad, shouting with glee 'It's snowing, it's snowing...'.

Today's weather was my other favourite winter weather, very cold but clear and sunny, about 5 degrees centigrade.'

Really enjoyed doing this page, especially cutting out the paper snowflakes for the first time for years, and have saved the instructions so I can make some more with the boys for our windows.

December 1st

Today's prompt was all about writing a manifesto of why I am doing this journal. My manifesto read...

'I declare that I will use this journal to:
  • capture memories
  • keep a record of Christmas to share with my children as they get older
  • give myself some space and time to pause, reflect and appreciate.

I'm not really bothered if you think cutting, sticking and pasting is a waste of time, I think you're mad not to scrap as life is short and this is how to remember it.

I make a promise to myself to remember that my life is often hectic, so it's OK to keep notes and catch up later if needed.

Picture to follow as typically the batteries for the home pc mouse have run out and we have no spares so no way of uploading photos :(.

Starting Off

Am a relatively new scrapper but am v keen! Recently was lucky anough to participate in an album workshop run by Shimelle and really enjoyed it so decided to Journal My Christmas as well. Want to know why? Read my manifesto page which will be on here later...
